Mark you calendars and get ready to celebrate fresh inspiration at the Hill & Hollow Quilt Show at the Baxter County Fairgrounds coming up fast -- October 24-26. There will be over 300 beautiful quilts on display, plus lots of cool vendors, a country store (be sure to stop by and buy one of my Mom's unique flower pincushions!), lots of door prizes, demonstrations, a silent auction, and special exhibits and displays. Food and snacks will be available, so plan to eat there too! Doors open at 9:30 a.m. Admission is $5. *As a fellow quilter, I welcome all quilters and their entourages to stay overnight at Mockingbird Bay Resort in one of our cozy cabins. In fact, we will give a 20% lodging cabin special rate to guests attending the quilt show! :) (Mention this special when you reserve your cabin.) See our website for more info, and feel free to call if you have any questions or would like to reserve yourself a cottage.(870) 491-5151. See y'all at the quilt show!!! :) Cheers!
I'm loving this Disappearing 9-Patch pattern... Just tried it for the first time. The blocks come out so pretty and rather difficult-looking, when in reality it's super easy! Here, I've laid out 20 blocks in a sort of darker-then-lighter alternating row pattern, with all of the "darker", cut center blocks going in the same direction -- which draws your eye up the diagonal... I haven't sewn the blocks together yet since I'm still playing around, but you get the idea!A very easy block made with 5" squares that has unlimited fun potential. :)
