When temps outside are chilly, Norfork Lake can appear to be a boiling cauldron with wisps of steamy plumes reaching high up in the sky.

A bit chilly, I'd say! Record cold temps across the region made for a very cold looking Norfork Lake. The wind whipped across the lake causing plumes of steam to waft high into the air like a giant boiling cauldron. What a great day to read a book in front of a crackling fireplace!
Fall foliage update: Colors are definitely coming. They seem later than last year, in my opinion, by a week or so. Reds are prominent in the undergrowth, with some dark reds/rust and muted yellows showing up in the trees. Night temperatures continue to drop, so things should be poppin' here soon.

Seriously, lately we've had some of the most beautiful weather ever! Clear blue sky, calm lake, warm sun, cool evenings... Absolute food for the soul. I hear from the weatherman that it's even supposed to warm up a tad more as this week goes along -- so come on down to Mockingbird Bay Resort. Squeeze the last bit of Summer out before Fall truly kicks in.Try to get away for a quick cabin stay and recharge, rejouvenate, and replenish your soul. You'll be so glad you did -- and it'll be well worth it! See you here! Cheers! :)
Beautiful water, sky and scenery! Sometimes it's nice to just hang out on the Mockingbird boat dock and take it all in. :)This is what vacationing is all about...even when it's raining.

Some of the best weather we've had this week! Lovely sunny and warm days -- with coolish nights. Tons of sun! We've had a beautiful fall with lots of gorgeous colors. There are still lots of gold leaves, with various rusts, dusky reds and muted orange still to enjoy especially during sunup and sundown.
