General Questions and Answers
Q. What time can I arrive at the resort?
Check-in time is 3-6pm.
Q. What time do I have to leave by?
Check-out time is anytime before 10am.
Q. Do you allow pets?
In some cabins, yes we do allow small/medium dogs by pre-approval at $10/day.
Please use a leash. Don’t leave them alone in the cabin, as most likely they’ll bark all day. Really. They will.
Q. How do I make a reservation?
Call us at (870) 491-5151. If the cabin you want is open for the dates you request, we’ll reserve it for you pending receipt of your deposit.
Q. How much of a deposit do I need?
For week-long reservations...a deposit of $300 for cabins 1-6 is required, and $400 for the Lake House/Log House. Deposits are less for partial-week stays.
Q. What happens to my deposit if I cancel my reservation?
That depends on how much notice you give us, and/or if we are able to re-rent your cabin for the same period you reserved.
Please see our cancellation policy under "Resort" and then "Policies".
Q. How do I figure out how much a cabin will cost?
First, determine the dates you want to come and find the season column on the "Rates" page that your dates fall under.
Then find your cabin's Base Rate (which is the number of people covered by the price shown).
Now add extra person charges according to your headcount -- not to exceed the cabin maximum. (Example: Your family of 6 would like to rent a Regular 2-bedroom cabin. The base rate for that cabin is 4 people, so you would pay the price shown and then add 2 extra-person charges.)
Add any pet charges, if applicable.
Calculate any boat stall or pontoon rental charges, if applicable.
Add tax of 9.5%.
Finally, deduct your pre-paid deposit...this is the amount paid upon arrival.
Q. When do I pay my bill?
Q. How far apart are the cabins?
This is best answered by watching the Resort Video under "Eye Candy" and by looking at the Resort Map. Our 8 cabins are like a little neighborhood unto themselves all located on 3 acres.
Q. Is the bedding furnished?
Yes, all the bedding is furnished.
Q. Are towels included?
Towels are included, but bring your own beach towels for outdoor use.
Q. Do you provide coffee?
No, your cabin has a coffee maker and filters, but you'll want to bring your favorite coffee.
Q. What else should we bring?
Bring tall kitchen trash bags. We do provide dish soap, dish towels, toilet paper, and mini hotel-type bars of soap. If you’d like full-size bar soap or liquid pump type soap, please bring some. If you’d like to minimize washing dishes, bring paper plates. Also bring other paper goods like paper towels, napkins, and Kleenex, and your own shampoo/conditioner, and hair dryer. A flashlight is always nice, too.
Q. Where do I launch my boat?
A concrete Corps of Engineers boat ramp is over at George’s Cove, which shares the bay with our dock. When you arrive, we'll help direct you more, and we'll show you where to park your trailer.
Q. Are boat stalls assigned?
No. Boat stalls are first-come-first-serve.
The 2 stalls closest to the shore, on the dock side without lockers, are reserved for our Mockingbird Bay Resort rental pontoons.
Q. Do you accept Walk-Ins?
Yes...within the check-in timeframe (3-6pm), but it's always a good idea to call first to make sure we have availability and confirm that we're home.
Q. Can we walk to the dock?
Yes, although most folks opt to drive. It’s about a minute’s drive, or a 5-minute walk to the boat dock...with about a 10-minute walk up.
You can walk on the road the entire way; or take the road 1/2 way and cut across the foot path; or you can walk a trail through the woods straight down to the dock (the trail head can be located in the trees below the BBQ pavilion).
Q. How deep is the lake under your dock?
The water under our swim deck is about 70 feet deep.
Q. Can I fish off the dock?
Yes! There are crappie brush piles underneath the boat dock. You can also catch bluegill, small mouth and large mouth bass, catfish, and even an occasional walleye from off our dock.
Q. Where can I buy ice?
You can buy ice out of the freezer in the Laundry Room, adjacent to the Rec Room. It's an honor system: The sign on the freezer will point you to a box on the wall. Drop your money into the slot corresponding to your cabin number.
Q. Can I have a bunch of noisy, rambunctious Day Guests come and use the facilities?
Perhaps...at another resort, but not here. Refer to the Day Visitors section under "Resort" and then "Policies".
